Different aligners for different indications

The introduction of clear aligners has changed Orthodontics. The possibility to deliver clear treatments for misaligned teeth made orthodontic treatments attractive for the wide group of patients not willing to wear braces.

In the last 15 years several manufacturers developed their clear aligner brands with differences in the data processing, treatment setups, aligner materials and shapes and attachments.

The presentation will discuss two of the most used products: Invisalign (Align Technology – USA) and ClearCorrect (ClearCorrect, Round Rock, TX, USA).

Differences in all the clinical steps from data collection to treatment delivery will be evaluated, according to the existing literature and a comparative qualitative study on 20 cases conducted by the author. Pros and Cons will be discussed and suggestions for the aligner choice in different indications will be proposed.
